Wimbledon Mens Winners
Since 1887, there have been many great players who have graced the Wimbledon Lawns with their brilliance. The names that have won the Wimbledon Grand Slam many times in the last few decades are Sampras, Borg, Becker and McEnroe.
Roger Federer
Roger Federer has joined an elite band of Wimbledon tennis winners with four titles to his name and has the potential of improving upon this following wins in 2003, 2004, 2205 and 2006 and is attempting to join Sampras, Becker and Borg with five wins which he is bound to do.
Pete Sampras
Pete in his great career managed 762 victories, 64 titles, including Grand Slam titles. He holds the record for most weeks at No. 1 and most consecutive years (6) as the top player in the World. Pete won Wimbledon 5 times in 1998, 1997, 1995, 1994 and in 1993.
Boris Becker
The fiery German won in all 5 Grand Slams, taking the Wimbledon title 3 times along the way. The main reason he goes down in the Wimbledon hall of fame is that he was the youngest player to win Wimbledon at the tender age of 17 years and seven months, his Wimbledon wins came in 1985, 1986 and 1989.
Bjorn Borg
Borg had the staggering achievement of winning 11 Grand Slam titles before the age of 26 and it was at that number of Grand Slams that he finished the game. He won Wimbledon 5 times in succession from 1976-1980 inclusive. He will be best remembered for his fantastic duels with John McEnroe.
John McEnroe
McEnroe was a true tennis legend as he brought character to the game and sometimes went over the top but he was a great entertainer. Always seeking perfection he had many great matches at Wimbledon with Borg and Connors, he won his 3 Wimbledon titles in 1981, 1985 and 1986.
