Murray has won his 1st Round match with a hard fought four set win over the big serving American, Robert Kendrick. It was by no means a vintage performance from the Scot and he admitted after that he will need to step up in the next rounds if he is to figure in the latter stages of the tournament. His 2nd Round performance was just that as he beat Ernests Gulbis in straight sets to impressive all onlookers as he moved into the 3rd round where he faced Vicktor Troicki. Murray once again looked good as he won in straight sets to move into the second week where he faced Stanislas Wawrinka on Monday night. In an epic five set match Murray finally prevailed at almost 11.00pm under the new Centre court roof. His Semi-Final Match against Juan Carlos Ferrero was a straight forward three set win and Murray will now face Andy Roddick in his first ever Wimbledon Semi-Final.
Andy Murray is the World No.3 and heads into Wimbledon with the weight of a nation on his shoulders as he bids to become the first men's Wimbledon champion since Fred Perry won in 1936. Murray has been steadily climbing the rankings for the past few years and now finds himself at Number 3 which is just behind the greats Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal who he will be going head-to-head with at SW19.

Murray is likely to have to beat Roger Federer in the final if he is to win his first Grand Slam, so he will need to be on top form if he is to take the crown but many Tennis experts are tipping Murray to win his first Wimbledon. Andy Murray got a reasonably kind draw and that was enhanced when Nadal pulled out injured from his half of the draw but he will have Andy Roddick in his way before taking on Federer.
